The Kent & Medway Healthy Workplace programme supports businesses of all sizes and sectors to meet the health needs of their workplace. The programme also helps employers, and their staff, find ways to be healthy at work.

This is typically done by:

• Making sure the right policies are in place to support health and wellbeing at work.
• Ensuring the workplace is supportive for good health and wellbeing.
• Providing a thorough staff training programme, for both new and existing employees.
• Giving line managers help to be supportive and staff the chance to engage in healthy activities, either in work or in their own time.

The Kent and Medway Workplace Wellbeing Award supports businesses of all sizes and sector meet the needs of their workplace health.

In Mid December we approached the Medway Council to take part in this vital program. Since then, we’ve worked closely with the Healthy Workplace team, developing over 30 unique pledges that are tailored to improve our teams physical and mental health.

We’ve now successfully achieved a Gold award for our work towards making our workplace even more of a supportive and healthy environment.

Here’s a few words from our Office Manager, Abi Wilding, on receiving the latest recognition:

“We were very happy to participate in the Kent and Medway Healthy Workplaces programme. Our advisor Helen was extremely helpful throughout the whole process. The health and well-being of our employees is extremely important to us, so we’re excited to foster a stimulating and supportive work environment that promotes healthy behaviours, minus a cheeky G&T here or there 😉.”

We’ll continue to work on our pledges and refine the processes which make the Firemind workplace a great one!
