Well done Jess! 🥂
On the eve of Christmas day, Jessica Waving passes her AWS Certified Associate Developer Exam!
Before sitting the exam, Jess had to:
• Develop an in-depth knowledge of at least one high-level programming language.
• Fully understand core AWS services, uses of the services and basic AWS architecture best practices (including the AWS Shared Responsibility Model, application lifecycle management and the use of containers in the development process).
• Become proficient in developing, deploying and debugging cloud-based applications using AWS and writing code for serverless applications.
• Demonstrate the ability to identify key features of AWS services and use the AWS service APIs, AWS CLI and SDKs to write applications.
We spoke with Jess earlier to find out what it was like as well as how this new accreditation will have an impact on her future role and personal growth within Firemind.
Why did you decide to take this exam?
I took the exam to challenge myself and to better myself for my career development. It gave me something to work towards and means I have another certification under my belt. Being certified also shows my commitment level to learning and improving myself.
What does this result mean to you?
It meant a lot to me as I worked hard preparing for this exam and too see my hard work pay off is an indescribable feeling. It makes me very proud!
How will it help you in your work/career?
It will help me in my work as it means I have gained more knowledge with the AWS services that I actually use within my everyday work life.
What’s the next exam you are going for?
I haven’t thought too much about the next exam I am going to aim for but it will most likely be an AWS speciality. Im definitely leaning towards the Database speciality the most.
