Vicente Passes the AWS SysOps Administrator Associate Exam

Congratulations Vicente! 🥂

We kick off this week in celebratory style as Vicente Manzano Salas passes his AWS SysOps Administrator Associate Exam!

Before sitting the exam, Vicente had to:

• Have a great foundation and tons of hands-on experience with AWS technology.
• Be experienced with deploying, managing and operating workloads on AWS as well as implementing security controls and compliance requirements.
• Be familiar with using both the AWS Management Console and the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI).
• Have a thorough understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework as well as AWS networking and security services.

Vicente has been studying diligently over the last few weeks, practicing in AWS Labs and preparing for the intense test. We’re delighted (but not surprised) in his success and can’t wait for what’s to come for him in 2022.

We spoke to him earlier today to find out what it was like as well as how this new accreditation will have an impact on his future role and personal growth within Firemind.

Why did you decide to take this exam?

I wanted to specialise in the Operations and Systems Administration side of AWS to help our customers further by monitoring their infrastructure and making sure it is highly available and fault tolerant.

What does passing mean to you?

It makes me happy to have passed the exam 6 months after joining Firemind. Now I really feel like a have a completely new range of skills that will help me grow faster and pursue my career goals.

How will it help you in your work/career?

Now I have more confidence to take more challenging AWS exams and be able to specialise with more time and dedication as a cloud engineer.

What’s the next exam you are going for?

I would like to do the AWS Solutions Architect Associate or the AWS DevOps Engineer Professional exam next year, but I’m equally happy to see what 2022 has in store for me!

Sights set on 2022

With more and more of our team carving a path into AWS achievements, accreditations and certifications, we’re looking forward to not only expanding our team knowledge but also growing our specialist product, development and cloud engineering departments.
